Deep and wide the Hanshingyegok (Valley), located in the north of Jirisan Mountain has beauty of rugged but graceful stretched from Baegmudong, Macheon-myeon, Hamyang-gun to Seseok Plateau. With numerous waterfalls, the perfection of beauty, continuing from Baegmudong to Seseok about 10km, Hanshingyegok is the valley of waterfalls that clear, beautiful water fall down throughout the year.
Hanshingyegok (Valley) from above the Baegmudong to Seseok, Bareunjaegol originated from the north of Deokpyeongbong Peak, Goteonjaegol falling down from near Chilseonbong Peak, and Hanshinjigyegok (Valley) falling down from the direction of Jangteomok consist of whole Hanshingyegok (Valley). These four valleys centering on the Hanshingyegok (Valley) compose Baegmudong valley and these flows down to Eomcheon to form the upperstream of Namgang. Hanshingyegok (Valley) is made of gorges between Chotdaebong and Yeongshinbong Peak, combined with Hanshin stem valley at Ganeso Waterfall, and continued to Baegmudong.
Anyone can climb on Hanshingyegok Valley and its stem valley through well-leveled road but Barunjaegol and Goduengol are still remained as the valley of untouchable mistery, having the beauty of ancient times.
The climbing point of Hanshingyegok (Valley) starts from Baegmudong. We can use a car to Baegmudong, and the wide path to the first waterfalls is pretty convenient enough to climb for all family members. Going for a while through forest we can find the point first where the climbing road and valley meets, this is the Cheotnadeuri Waterfall. Dozens of waterspouts fall down to the bridge across the valley, it is more magnificent to look up from the beneath than to look at the bridge level.
This waterfall is easy to miss when climbing just along the road, and it is more fantastic when water splashing like wind. Passing the bridge and go along the road we can meet series of three bridges, it is good to look down the valley beneath my feet on shaking bridges.
The 1km from Cheotnadeuri to Ganeso Waterfall is praised as the essential of Hanshingyegok (Valley). Nameless waterfalls, wide rocks, and thick forest…these are exactly the landscape of paradise. Right beneath the Ganeso Waterfall the waterspout separates by two ways, these are Hanshingyegok (Valley) and its stem valley. Hanshin stem valley is connected to Jangteomok along the Narim Waterfall, and Hanshingyegok (Valley) is connected to Seseok along the Ocheung Waterfalls and Hanshin Waterfall. Ganeso is the waterfall of 15m heights, it makes 50 of swamps, and we are overwhelmed by its magnificence.
Recently plenty of people come to visit the Ganeso, which has the legend of ritual for rain, throughout the year. The real climbing of Hanshingyegok (Valley) is 7km course from Ganeso to Sesok. Going up the left side of ground steep road reaches to the valley and cross it, going more along the forest road around the valley appears Ocheung Waterfalls, presenting its peculiar beauty of long, continuous waterfalls with five steps. It is often called Oryeon Waterfalls. From this waterfalls, following the mountain bamboo and bushed tunnels, crossing the valley and after continouos rough climbing we can meet the sign of Hanshin Waterfall symbolizing the Hanshin Valley, at last.
The waterfall is hidden at secret place, for we cannot find it until we go down 80m more from the sign at the right side. Hanshingyegok (Valley) terminates here leaving countless beautiful waterfalls, and last 1km continues to Seseok along the sharp-blading rocks. Starting from Baegmudong, going through beautiful waterfalls and streams and ending in Seseok where azaleas come into full bloom, the route of Hanshingyegok (Valley) is considered to be the fantastic climbing course to visit in this summer.
