Gibaeksan Mountain, so called Jiusan, makes boundary between Hamyang-gun and Geochang-gun. Around the mountain, Jiucheon flows into the valley, and there are plenty of big and small rocks and swamps, the water is abundant. The main climbing courses are Yongchusa (Temple), Yongchugyegok (Valley), Yongchu waterfall, and around the Shimwonjeong, rocks and old pine trees harmonize together. Gibaeksan Mountain has a lot of big and small valleys as well as beautiful scenic points, deep valleys and abundant water, great features of mountain surrounded by magnificent shapes of rocks from Samwonjeong to Yongchu waterfall, and especially the fields of reeds that reaches from the peak to Geumwonsan Mountain, about three kilometers, is the most scenic view of all.
Of all the way to Gibaeksan Mountain, it is the most representative way to climb the north ridgeline at Iljumun of Yongchusa to the peak of Gibaeksan Mountain. The best way to go down is to go to Geumwonsan Mountain and climb down Yongchugyegok (Valley) through Sumakryung, but the distance to Geumwonsan Mountain is three kilometers and there is another way to climb down passing Geumwonsan Mountain through Yongchugyegok (Valley), but it's also a detour course so if you don't have enough time just select the several downhill courses of left and right side of the ridge.
